Jared Anez Eagle Lake Race Series : Willmar, MN
The Jared Anez Eagle Lake Race Series is a community event held in Willmar, Minnesota on August 1, 2026. The series offers multiple in-person and virtual options and raises funds for scholarships supporting local high school students pursuing STEM studies.
The event program includes:
- Half Marathon 13.1 miles
- 5K Run/Walk
- Kids Fun Run, free for children 10 and under
- Bean Bag Tournament, two-person teams
The half marathon route goes around Eagle Lake and starts and finishes at Willmar High School. The course is supported for three hours; participants beyond that support limit are considered self-supported and are not guaranteed an official finish time. Water stops are provided at several locations along the half marathon course, including near miles 3, 4, 5, 7, 8.5, 10, 11, and 13. Virtual Half Marathon and 5K options are available, though virtual submissions are not eligible for event awards or championship series points; virtual half marathon finishers receive a mailed medal.
Awards include overall trophies for first male and first female finishers and age-group awards for both the half marathon and the 5K. The bean bag tournament awards gift cards to the top two teams. Race participants registered by July 19 are guaranteed a race T-shirt in their selected size. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
