5th Annual Scholarship 2 Mile Walk/Run
This event is the fifth annual 2 mile walk and run held to raise funds for a scholarship for a Roane County High School student pursuing a degree in education or the mental health field. Entry fees and donations will directly benefit the scholarship fund.
The event date is May 8, 2026. The location is Roane General Hospital Center of Wellness, 200 Hospital Dr, Spencer, WV 25276.
Distances:
- 2 Miles - Walker
- 2 Miles - Runner
- 2 Miles - Kids ages 10 and under, walk or run
Pre-registration opens March 17, 2026 and closes May 6, 2026. Entry fees are $10 for standard entries and $5 for kids ages 10 and under. The registration fee includes a short sleeved shirt for the first 40 participants, with limited sizes.
In the previous year the event raised $1,000 for the scholarship. Donations may be dropped off at the PATCH Office or mailed to PATCH at 811 Madison Ave, Spencer, WV 25276. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
