Jamestown Triathlon
The Jamestown Triathlon takes place at Jamestown Event Beach Park near the Jamestown Settlement and historic Williamsburg, Virginia on June 13, 2027. The event offers Olympic and Sprint race options and Aquabike alternatives.
- Olympic: 1.5K swim; 40K bike (flat); 10K run (flat)
- Sprint: 750m swim; 20K bike (flat); 5K run (flat)
The swim stages are rectangular courses in the brackish James River starting from Jamestown Beach. Water depth along most of the course is 6 to 10 feet. Kayak support is available on site. Water temperature is expected in the mid to upper 70s and an official temperature reading is taken on race morning.
Bike courses remain mostly flat and updated in recent years. Olympic athletes use dedicated bike lanes on Centerville Road with an out and back on Jolly Pond Road and a right turn on Brick Bat Road. The Olympic bike route lists about 507 feet of elevation gain; the Sprint bike lists about 301 feet.
Run courses follow paved bike paths and shaded packed gravel trails with views of farmland and forest. Courses are described as flat; aid stations are placed at roughly one mile intervals and supply ice water and Gatorade. Run elevation figures are available for each distance.
Race logistics include packet pickup at the race site on the day before and the morning of the race and a required photo ID to collect race materials. The event is USA Triathlon sanctioned and offers age group, aquabike, military, Clydesdale, Athena, and relay categories. All participants receive a race shirt, socks, finisher medal, and post race food. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
