Jamestown Triathlon
The Jamestown Triathlon takes place at Jamestown Beach Event Park in Williamsburg, Virginia on June 13, 2027. The event offers Olympic and Sprint triathlon distances plus aquabike and relay options. Race categories include Overall, Masters, Age Group, Aquabike, Military, Clydesdale, Athena and Relay teams; all categories are scored three deep. The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon.
Swim courses start from Jamestown Beach and use rectangular layouts in the brackish James River. Water depth along the course is typically 6 to 10 feet and water temperatures are commonly in the mid to upper 70s; kayak rentals are available on site and an official water temperature reading is taken on race morning.
The bike routes are described as mostly flat and fast with dedicated bike lanes on Centerville Road and out-and-back sections on Jolly Pond Road. Brick Bat Road features a key turn where courses merge and athletes enter and exit the park via different entrances.
Run courses are flat. The Olympic run begins on an asphalt bike path and includes shaded packed gravel trails; aid stations are provided about every mile with ice water and Gatorade. The Sprint run is a paved jogging trail, roughly 1.5 miles out and back.
Packet pickup is available the day before and on race morning; participants must collect their own packet and present photo identification. Participants receive race apparel, socks, a finisher medal and finisher photos. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
