Jackson Hole Turkey Trot
The event is a community 5K run held at the Stilson Parking Lot in Wilson, Wyoming. The entry fee is free; donations are accepted to help keep the event free for the community, with suggested amounts of $5 per person or $20 per family. Organizers provide special Turkey Trot mugs for hot beverages after the run.
The 5K is untimed and there will be no official results. Despite being untimed, prizes are awarded for the top three female and top three male finishers and for Best Dressed. Faster runners are asked to start near the front and walkers or slower participants toward the back. Participants are requested to keep dogs on leash.
Course description: the route starts and ends in the Stilson Parking Lot just north of the bathrooms and follows a local pathway. Runners enter the pathway, pass under Highway 22 via the tunnel, proceed to the junction with HHR Road, turn right to run a short section on HHR Road, then return to the pathway just past Wilson Elementary School. A water station is located at the entrance to the pathway. The route remains on the pathway until a final right turn back into Stilson and the finish area.
