Jackrabbit Run 5K & 10K
The Jackrabbit Run takes place in Copperas Cove, Texas, serving as the season opener for local Rabbit Fest festivities. The course navigates through the Ogletree Gap area, featuring a landscape characterized by rolling hills and a notable incline known for its significant elevation gain. Participants may choose between two chip-timed distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
The event is part of the Cen-Tex Race Series. Runners are encouraged to wear rabbit-themed costumes during the race. The venue at 1878 Post Office Road features a DJ and various vendors for participants to explore.
Registration and packet pick-up are available on the morning of the event at the race site. Event entry is managed via personal mobile devices, and payments are restricted to credit cards only. T-shirts are provided to the first 150 registrants, though size availability is limited to remaining stock at the time of registration.
Awards recognize the overall male and female winners, as well as the top three finishers in several age categories. These groups range from 11 and under to 70 and older, divided into five-year increments for adults. Participants can walk or run the course, and all rankings are determined by chip timing.
