Jack & Jill's Downhill Marathon & Half - North Bend, WA
Jack & Jill's Downhill is a two-day event held July 25–26, 2026 in North Bend, Washington. The event offers both a full marathon and a half marathon on net-downhill courses and is USATF certified; finish times can be used to qualify for the Boston Marathon. Organizers note a course update: storm impacts to sections of the Palouse to Cascades Trail require alternate net-downhill routes this year and registration is temporarily paused while details are finalized.
The marathon covers a 26.2-mile net descent of about 2,000 feet and follows scenic, hard-packed dirt and gravel trail that passes through the Snoqualmie Tunnel. Aid stations are located about every 2.5 miles and supply water, electrolyte drink, and select gels. The event uses a rolling start staggered by pace groups to reduce congestion. Marathon runners must carry a light for the tunnel and may use the tear tag on the bib to mark that light for drop at the tunnel exit. Road shoes are recommended; trail shoes are not required and gaiters are optional.
Logistics note: there is no shuttle to the marathon start; the half marathon uses shuttle buses to the trailhead with a roughly one-mile walk to the start and no parking at the half start or finish. Packet pickup is handled at Snoqualmie Running Company; race day pickup is available only if pre-paid. The event policy states no refunds, deferrals, or transfers except for volunteers.
