Isle of Arran (Shiskine Valley) Half Marathon
The Isle of Arran (Shiskine Valley) Half Marathon is a community-organised road race based at Blackwaterfoot Playing Field on the Isle of Arran. The event is open to runners aged 17 years or older on the day of the race. Registration, the start and the finish take place at the playing field in the centre of Blackwaterfoot.
Entries open on 4 March 2026 and close on 19 June 2026. Entry fees are listed in GBP: Member of Scottish Athletics £20.00 and Non Member £22.00. Entries so far show 108 participants. The event is organised jointly by Arran Runners and Shiskine Valley Improvements. No refunds are given.
The course is a road route that is not closed to traffic. It is marked at every mile and includes at least four water stations. For reasons of safety, headphones are not permitted. Medical cover will be provided by ABC Arran. Timekeeping is carried out by Eventfull Management. Trophies are awarded to the first male and female athletes and awards are given in the categories SM, SW, First Island Resident and First Team of 3.
There are no changing or showering facilities at the playing field, though these may be available at Kinloch Hotel for a small charge on advance enquiry. A public toilet is available in Blackwaterfoot and bags can be left securely on the field. Competitors travelling on the day are advised to check ferry and local bus services and to book travel in advance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
