Iroquois Hill Runners Thanksgiving Day Run
A community running event held at Iroquois Park in Louisville with multiple distances and on-course amenities. The program includes these events:
- 5 Miles 5 Mile Run/Walk
- 5K 5K Stuffing Run/Walk
- 1.25 Miles 1.25 Mile Run/Walk
Refreshments available include coffee, hot chocolate and apple cider. A costume contest is part of the event; participants may wear themed costumes. Each entrant receives a long sleeve race shirt and an entry in a drawing. Packet pickup is available at Swag's South End Store on the Tuesday and Wednesday of Thanksgiving week, with store hours 10 AM to 7 PM; race day packet pickup is also available onsite, and early pickup is noted as the way to guarantee shirt size.
Pets are allowed on the course but must be leashed; runners with pets are required to start at the back and stay on the right side of the road. Parking is limited in the Iroquois Amphitheater Lot; overflow parking is listed at Colonial Gardens and DeSales High School, both within walking distance of the start and finish area.
Awards for the 5 Mile include overall cash prizes (1st $150, 2nd $100, 3rd $50) and age-group gift certificates. Additional awards include age-group prizes, an Eugene Baker Memorial Award for the oldest male and female, and a first stroller prize. No awards are given for the 5K or 1.25 Mile events.
