Event Overview
The IronHike Endurance Series Spring event is a multi day self powered trail running and hiking series. It takes place from June 4 to June 7, 2026, at the Mohawk Mountain Ski Area in Cornwall, Connecticut.
Event Format
Participants can choose from several timed events with significant elevation gain, formatted as a FlexRelay. Events last 12, 24, 48, 72, or 84 hours, allowing for self managed pacing. Some events involve night trekking requiring a headlamp. Participants can enter as individuals, in teams of two (Trail Buddy), or in teams of three or four (Trail Family).
Available Distances
The series includes multiple named challenges:
- Kuwohi: 15 miles with 7,140 feet of elevation over 12 hours.
- Double Kuwohi: 28+ miles with 13,685 feet of elevation over 24 hours.
- Denali: 43+ miles with 20,825 feet of elevation over 48 hours.
- Everest: 61+ miles with 29,155 feet of elevation over 72 hours.
- Olympus Mons Ultra: 152+ miles with 72,590 feet of elevation over 84 hours.
- Answer the Bell Ultra: A format where participants complete a 1.2 mile loop with 600 feet of elevation gain every hour until they can no longer continue. It has both a Basic (28.8 miles, 14,400 feet) and Full (100+ miles, 50,400 feet) version.
Location and Amenities
The event is held at a rented ski area venue. Amenities included with registration are tenting space, a support station with shade, a fire pit, hydration, and snacks, as well as custom bibs, tokens, and medals.
