The IRONDOG 5k takes place on Saturday, March 21, 2026 in East Lansing, Michigan at 888 Conrad Rd. The event is the 12th annual running of the IRONDOG 5K, a fundraiser for the IRONDOG Fund which supports medical and surgical care of animals at the MSU Veterinary Medical Center. Distances offered:
- 5k Run/Walk
- Virtual 5k Run/Walk
Registration opens January 28, 2026. Entry fees and shirt guarantees are tiered: in-person registration is $30 through March 13 with a t-shirt guaranteed, $35 from March 14 to March 20 with limited shirts, and $40 on race day while shirts last. Virtual entries include shipping and follow a similar shirt guarantee schedule; virtual participants may submit results but are not eligible for awards.
Logistics and awards
The course is described as a flat 5K route through the campus of Michigan State University. Dogs are allowed with walkers only; dogs must be leashed and walkers are asked to start at the back of the start area. Early packet pickup is scheduled at Playmakers, 2299 W Grand River Ave, Okemos, on Friday, March 20. Race-day packet pickup will be available at the race site. The race will be professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation and results will be available live.
