Iron Horse 4 Miler
The Iron Horse 4 Miler takes place on July 4, 2026 at the Long Island Maritime Museum in West Sayville, New York. The event includes an in-person 4 mile run, a 2 mile walk, a kids 50 meter sprint, and a virtual 4 mile option. Distances offered include:
- 4 Miles for the in-person run
- 2 Miles for the walk
- 50 meters for the kids sprint
- 4 Miles for the virtual entry
Proceeds from the event will be donated to the ALS Ride for Life to support patient services at the Stony Brook Neuromuscular Disease and ALS Center of Excellence. The organizer notes the event is held in honor of family members affected by ALS and others living with the disease. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is described as a progressive neurodegenerative disease; currently there is no cure and it is always fatal.
Registration opens May 1, 2026. Fees vary by entry type and are listed as $25 for the in-person 4 Mile run, $30 for the 2 Mile Walk, $10 for the kids sprint, and $25 for the virtual 4 Mile.
