Iron Furnace Trail Run
The Iron Furnace Trail Run is scheduled for February 20, 2027, in McArthur, OH, and is organized by SEOTR Events. The 2027 edition is the 14th annual running of the event. Registration opens on November 1, 2026 at 12:00 AM ET.
Races take place at Lake Hope State Park and in Zaleski State Forest. The organizer describes the half marathon as one of Ohio's hardest half marathons. The courses use predominantly single-track trails and pass through remote, rugged forest terrain with deep gorges, scenic overlooks, and rocky outcroppings. Beginning in 2025 the start and finish location changed to a new site still within Lake Hope State Park; the majority of the 13.1 mile course remains the same but the course and some race details were altered from earlier years.
Distances
- 13.1 miles (half marathon) on single-track trails in Lake Hope State Park.
- 5 miles on singletrack partly along the lake.
Additional event information and the full course layout are provided by the event organizer and on the event website. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
