Hocking Hills Trail Run : Hocking Hills State Park, Logan OH
The Hocking Hills Trail Run is a multi-distance trail event held on September 12, 2026, in Hocking Hills State Park and parts of Hocking State Forest. The event offers multiple race distances and operates under special use permits from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
The courses start and finish at the Visitor Center near Old Man's Cave and travel on trails that pass Old Man's Cave, Cedar Falls, Ash Cave, and the Fire Tower. Routes include stream crossings, forested paths, and gorges with notable elevation changes. Course redesigns have reduced pavement sections so most distances are now approximately 95 percent trail surface. A 10 mile loop accumulates about 1300 feet of elevation gain.
Packet pickup is available the day before and on race morning at the Visitor Center. Parking is provided at the main Visitor Center lot with an overflow lot and shuttle service. Online registration opens February 1, 2026, closes September 10, 2026, and total capacity across distances is 750 entrants with a waitlist if capacity is reached.
Participant provisions and rules include event shirts for entrants, a handmade pottery medallion presented to each finisher at the finish area, overall and age group awards, no bib transfers, no pacers, and dogs on leashes are permitted. Courses are not certified; GPX files and mapped distances are provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
