Hocking Hills Trail Run
The Hocking Hills Trail Run is a multi-distance trail event held in Hocking Hills State Park in Logan, Ohio on September 12, 2026. The event offers five distance options and is limited to 600 entrants; a waitlist opens if capacity is reached.
Distances include:
- 50K (mapped at about 31.10 miles)
- 20 Mile (mapped at about 20.70 miles)
- 10 Mile (mapped at about 10.35 miles)
- 5 Mile (mapped at about 5.01 miles)
- 5K (mapped at about 3.10 miles)
All races start and finish near the Old Man's Cave Visitor Center area. Courses use trails in Hocking Hills State Park and Hocking State Forest and pass Old Man's Cave, Cedar Falls, Ash Cave, and the Fire Tower. Runners cross an A-Frame bridge and follow a main 10 mile loop in a clockwise direction. The course redesign increased singletrack trail surfaces so most routes are about 95 percent trail; the 5 Mile and 5K are nearly entirely trail and the 10 Mile includes roughly 0.6 miles of pavement. Typical elevation accumulates to about 1300 feet per 10 mile loop.
The event operates under special use permits from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Course maps, GPX downloads, and aid station charts are provided. Entrants receive a race shirt and all finishers receive a hand made pottery medallion. Overall and age group awards are presented for each distance.
