IPTT Progressive Marathon
The IPTT Progressive Marathon recreates a multi-race format that was used in the 1980s by the Park Forest Running and Pancake Club. Participants run a short loop at the Vollmer Trails, entering at the Flossmoor Entrance, and repeat the loop four times. Each loop is a 3.275 mile race; the four race times are combined with the finish time from the Flossmoor Hidden Gem Half Marathon to produce a progressive marathon total.
The event lists a registration fee of $20.00. After the Hidden Gem half marathon, overall placings are tabulated and the top three finishers are awarded. If there are enough participants, age group awards will also be given. The description notes that dates for the series of races will be published separately.
