Event Overview
The IPTT Progressive Marathon is a unique running event that revives a tradition from the 1980s, originally created by the Park Forest Running and Pancake Club. The total marathon distance is achieved by combining times from a series of shorter races with a final half marathon.
Event Format
Participants run a 3.275-mile race four separate times at the Vollmer Trails. The start is at the Flossmoor Entrance of the Vollmer Trail. The combined times from these four races are then added to the participant's finish time from the separate Flossmoor Hidden Gem Half Marathon to create a complete marathon result.
Awards and Location
After the Flossmoor Hidden Gem Half Marathon, results are tabulated. The top three overall finishers will receive awards. Age group awards may also be given if there are enough participants. The event takes place in Country Club Hills, Illinois, at 4310 Flossmoor Rd. The specific dates for the series of 3.275-mile races will be announced later.
