Event Overview
The Larking Gowen Ipswich Half Marathon takes place in Ipswich. The route starts and finishes at Portman Road Stadium, home to Ipswich Town FC. The course goes past Duke Street, Ipswich Waterfront, and Cliff Lane, continuing around the River Orwell and Wherstead Road before finishing along Grafton Way.
Event Details
Participants must be 17 or older on the event day. Entry includes chip timing, a finisher's goody bag, an exclusive medal, and an option to pre-order a finisher t-shirt and iTAB. Water stations and Applied Nutrition energy stations with isotonic drinks and energy gels will be available on the course. There will be pacers sponsored by Arla Protein on the course.
The event village offers food and drink for purchase. Baggage storage is available. An official photographer will be present, and post-race photos can be purchased. Results will be available online after the event.
Race numbers are posted to participants in the UK. Those who do not receive their number can collect it from the Race Office at Portman Road Stadium, which opens on event day at 7:30 AM. Participants from outside the UK must collect their numbers from the Race Office.
Sustainability
The event encourages sustainability. Recycling bins are provided at water stations. A partnership with JogOn allows participants to donate old trainers at drop-off stations in the event village.
Travel Information
The start line is accessible by car, bus, train, and bicycle. Road closures will be in effect. Several car parks are nearby, including NCP Ipswich Portman Road and Portman Road Car Park. The nearest train station is Ipswich station on Burrell Road, a 5 to 10-minute walk from the start. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
