Event overview
The Larking Gowen Ipswich Half marathon takes place on Sunday 27 September 2026. The race starts and finishes at Portman Road Stadium in Ipswich. The route passes down Duke Street, through Ipswich Waterfront, along Cliff Lane, around the River Orwell, onto Wherstead Road, back along Grafton Way and returns to the stadium. Entrants must be 17 years or over on event day.
On the day information
Included for participants are chip timing, a finisher's goody bag, an exclusive medal and the option to pre-order a finisher t-shirt and an iTAB engraving. Race numbers can be collected from the Race Office at Portman Road Stadium if not received by post; the Race Office opens on the morning of the event. Baggage can be left in the designated Baggage Store using the tear-off strip on the race number.
There are water stations on course supplying 330 ml bottles and recycling bins at each station. High5 energy stations will offer Zero tabs and energy gels. Pacers with finish-time flags are provided on course. Allocated toilets are available around the stadium. Fixed first aid stations are located near water stations, with a first aid unit and recovery area close to the start and finish, and roaming first aiders in the Event Village. Event photography and post-event results are provided. Sustainability measures include recycling bins on course and trainer drop-off stations next to the Race Office.
