Larking Gowen Ipswich Half Marathon
The event is a half marathon that starts and finishes at Portman Road Stadium in Ipswich. The course passes down Duke Street, through Ipswich Waterfront, along Cliff Lane, around the River Orwell, onto Wherstead Road and back along Grafton Way to the stadium.
Entrants must be 17 years or over on event day. Race numbers not received by post can be collected from the Race Office at Portman Road Stadium on the event weekend. A designated Baggage Store is provided; participants use the tear off strip on their race number to tag bags.
On course there are water stations supplying 330 ml bottles and Applied Nutrition energy stations offering isotonic drinks and energy gels. Fixed first aid stations are located near water stations, and a first aid unit and recovery area are positioned close to the start and finish. Pacers sponsored by Arla Protein will run with flags indicating target finish times. Toilet facilities are provided around the stadium.
The Event Village offers food and drink for purchase and hosts partner charities. Photography is provided by MarathonPhotos and results will be published in the event results section after the race. The organisers emphasise waste management and recycling on course, include shoe drop stations with JogOn for unwanted trainers, and allow bone conducting headphones at low volume so marshals and emergency instructions can be heard.
