Larking Gowen Ipswich Half Marathon
The Larking Gowen Ipswich Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 27 September 2026, with the race starting and finishing at Portman Road Stadium. The route passes down Duke Street, through Ipswich Waterfront and along Cliff Lane, then circles the River Orwell before returning via Wherstead Road and Grafton Way to the stadium finish.
Entrants must be 17 years or over on event day. Race numbers can be collected from the Race Office at Portman Road Stadium on the morning of the event; numbers are not posted to postal addresses outside the UK. A baggage store is provided; competitors are asked to use the tear-off strip on their race number and attach it to their bag before checking in.
On course there are water stations offering 330 ml bottles and Applied Nutrition isotonic drinks and energy gels. Fixed first aid stations are positioned near water stations and a first aid unit and recovery area are located close to the start and finish, with roaming first aiders on site. Pacers carrying finish-time flags will be available. Designated toilets are provided and there is a zero-tolerance policy for urinating outside facilities.
The Event Village includes food and drink vendors and charity stalls. Chip timing, a finisher goody bag, an exclusive medal and an option to pre-order a finisher t-shirt and iTAB are included. Images are taken on course and results are published after the event. Recycling bins and trainer drop-off points support event sustainability.
