Event overview
The Larking Gowen Ipswich Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 27 September 2026 and starts and finishes at Portman Road Stadium. The route passes down Duke Street, through Ipswich Waterfront, along Cliff Lane, around the River Orwell, onto Wherstead Road and back along Grafton Way before returning to the stadium. Entrants must be 17 years or over on event day.
Included for participants are chip timing, a finisher's goody bag, an exclusive medal and the option to pre-order a finisher t-shirt and iTAB engraving. All results will be published in the event results section after the race. MarathonPhotos will provide race photographs for purchase.
On-the-day logistics
Race numbers can be collected from the Race Office at Portman Road Stadium; the Race Office opens at 7.30am on the event day. A designated Baggage Store is provided; participants should use the tear-off strip on their race number to tag bags. Toilets will be available around the stadium and bins and recycling points will be provided across the event site.
There will be water stations offering 330ml bottles and High5 energy stations supplying Zero tabs and energy gels; recycling bins will be provided at each water station. Medical cover includes fixed first aid stations near water stations, a first aid unit and recovery area close to the start/finish and roaming first aiders on site. Pacers with finish-time flags will be present on course. Clothing left at the start will be collected for donation unless placed in the baggage store.
