17th Annual Iowa Remembrance Run
The Iowa Remembrance Run serves as a morning event dedicated to honoring and remembering service members who have been killed or who have died due to service-connected illnesses. This seventeenth edition of the event takes place in West Des Moines, Iowa, with activities centered at Grand Ave.
Participants can choose from several event categories focused on the 5k distance:
- 5k Run (3.1 miles)
- 5k Walk (3.1 miles)
- Youth 5k for participants ages 2-10
- Virtual 5k option including shipping
The registration fee for the standard events covers a variety of items for participants. Each registered individual receives a shirt and a commemorative medal. Additionally, the fee includes brunch for those attending the physical event. The youth category specifically includes a shirt, a medal, and lunch for participants.
The event provides a path for those who cannot attend in person through the virtual race option. Registration for all categories typically opens several months in advance in April and closes approximately one week before the event date in September.
