Iota Zeta Sigma Alumnae Chapter Fun Run
The Iota Zeta Sigma Alumnae Chapter Fun Run/Walk is a charity athletic event taking place in Atlanta, Georgia. The event features a single course distance held on the streets of the city, starting and finishing at 741 Connally Street SE. The run is open to participants ranging from age 5 to 90.
The course covers a distance of approximately 1.5 miles. Participants are required to maintain a pace of 20 minutes per mile. For safety reasons, specific items are prohibited on the course, including headphones, pets, bicycles, strollers, and wheeled conveyances such as roller or inline skates.
Participants receive a custom short-sleeve shirt and a finisher medal. While hydration is available at a station located at the finish line, there are no stations along the 1.5-mile route itself. The event includes an opening ceremony and a closing ceremony where winners and sponsors are acknowledged. Following the run, there is an opportunity to interact with various vendors and visit informational tables or tents at the site.
Free street parking is available at the event location. The organizers maintain a policy where the event proceeds regardless of rain, though severe weather or lightning may result in delays or a transition to a virtual format. Awards are determined based on the net time of the participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
