Ionia Community Awareness Glow Run
On September 19, 2026, a community glow run and walk takes place in downtown Ionia, Michigan. The event is a 5K run/walk that begins at the corner of Steele and Adams Streets and winds through downtown, passing several neighborhoods and local businesses.
Participants are encouraged to wear neon clothing and glow gear such as glow sticks, LED accessories, glowing face paint, or other illuminated apparel. Community members may line the route, cheer on participants, create encouraging signs, and leave porch lights on to help light the way.
The event concludes behind the historic Ionia Theatre, where concessions will be available for participants, families, and spectators. Registration opens July 13, 2026 and closes September 18, 2026; the registration fee is $30.00.
