Into the Darkness Night Trail Run : October 25, 2025
The 19th Into the Darkness Night Trail Run takes place at Explore Park in the Roanoke area. Registration fees are $32.00 on or before September 30 (plus processing fee), $37.00 after October 1 (plus processing fee), and $40.00 from Thursday, October 23 until the race. Packet pickup is scheduled at Gilbert Chiropractic on October 23 and at Explore Park on race day.
Course, logistics and rules
The course starts and finishes at the race HQ. It begins with 0.25 miles of asphalt road and then follows 3.6 miles of trail through Explore Park, using the Mountain Bike Nationals XCO course in reverse. Trails are marked with reflective arrows, glow sticks, and trail decor. A personal light source is mandatory; headlamps and flashlights are recommended. Headlamps and flashlights will not be provided.
Packet pickup and check-in are available on race day at Explore Park. A race briefing is scheduled prior to the start. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and medals to the top three in each age group. Age groups run from 9 & Under up to 70 & Over. Race rules require the race number to be visible on the front, following the marked trail, courteous passing, low-volume headphones only, no external audio broadcasting, and no dogs.
