The Independence Day 5K takes place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, in Aberdeen, Maryland. This is the sixth annual edition of the event.
Events and Distances
Participants can choose from three event types:
- 5K Run or Walk
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk (untimed)
- Virtual 5K
Course and Location
The event uses a certified course in Aberdeen. The race starts and ends at Festival Park, located at 60 N. Parke St. The course is described as fast and flat, going through downtown Aberdeen.
Registration and Fees
Registration prices are listed. The 5K costs $30 per person and includes a shirt, a premium medal, and a race bib. The price increases to $35 after June 15. The 1 Mile costs $25 per person (untimed) and includes the same items, increasing to $30 after June 15. The Virtual 5K costs $35 per person and includes a mailed packet with a shirt, medal, and bib.
Race day registration may be available at higher prices, but registrations may sell out before the event.
Logistics
Packet pickup on race day begins at 6:30 AM at the Festival Park Pavilion. Details for early packet pickup will be announced. Virtual race packets are mailed approximately one week before the event.
