INDEPENDENCE 4K

The Independence 4K is a four kilometer road race held in Archer Park in McAllen on July 4, 2026. The race is part of the city's Independence Day celebration and is scheduled to take place alongside the Independence Day Parade and the Freedom Festival, which includes food trucks, inflatable games, a petting zoo, and family activities.

Registration is online only and had a fee of $35.00. The event required participants to be at least 9 years old. Packet pick up is scheduled for Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Town Lake at Firemen's Park Pumphouse; packet pickup is not available on race day and a representative may collect packets on behalf of a participant with a copy of valid photo ID showing date of birth.

Participants receive a participant shirt, finisher medal, and runner bib. Awards are presented separately for male and female categories, with overall winners and age group awards for 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus.
