The Ilkley Moor Fell Race takes place in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, with Race HQ at Wells Road (OS Grid Ref SE117471, postcode LS29 9RF). The senior course is 8 km long with 401 metres of climbing and is classified by the Fell Runners Association as an AS category race. It is listed as ER - Experience Required and PM - course part-marked, and is one of the FRA’s "50 at 50" races.

Course, rules and event details

The route runs on Ilkley Moor and includes steep, slippery and rocky descents. There is a one hour cut-off at the Rocky Valley marshal point, approximately halfway, and runners outside this time will be instructed to retire. The event is run under FRA rules; runners must carry the FRA minimum kit, which includes waterproof whole body cover with taped seams and an attached hood, hat, gloves and a whistle. Use of GPS or equivalent navigation devices is forbidden and there will be random checks. Runners must be 16 or over on race day; under-18 entrants who entered online must present a completed FRA parental consent form at registration. Entry is limited to 400 places. Facilities at the HQ include toilets only; there are no water stations, distance markers, changing facilities, showers or baggage store. A no smoking policy applies for the event.
