Ilkley Incline 2026
The Ilkley Incline is a one mile uphill only race featuring approximately 560 ft of climbing and views across the Wharfe Valley. The route begins on tarmac road and then continues on a stony track. The course is multi terrain, hilly, and run as a single lap.
Key event details include an entry limit of 200 and a standard entry fee of £4.00; if the event does not sell out, entry on the day is available for an additional £1. The event holds an FRA category CS licence 2025-8806 and is not suitable for wheelchairs.
Facilities at the race HQ at the junction of Wells Road and Keighley Gate Road are minimal. There is no water, no distance markers, no toilets, no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage storage. Registration takes place on the grass by Wells Road. Prizes are awarded to first, second and third male and female finishers plus age category prizes, with prize giving immediately after the race.
A junior sprint relay competition runs alongside the main event for teams of four with a team entry fee of £6 payable on the day only. Under 18s must bring a signed parental consent form. The event is organised by Ilkley Harriers and supported by sponsors including Yorkshire Runner and Bini Brew Co. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
