IDEA Public Schools 5K & Healthy Living Expo
The IDEA Public Schools 5K and Healthy Living Expo takes place on March 7, 2026 at Ascarate Park in El Paso, TX. The event is part of the Healthy Kids Here program, a multi year initiative started seven years ago with a goal of becoming the healthiest school district in the country.

Registration fees vary by category, with community entries listed at a higher fee, team and family entries at a reduced fee, and student entries offered at no cost. Every registered runner in the 1 Mile and 5K receives a finisher medal. The 5K awards trophies for first through third place for male and female runners in four age divisions: 12 and under, 13 to 18, 18 to 50, and 50 and over. The IDEA campus with the most runners receives a traveling trophy that stays at that campus until the next year.
On site parking is free. Packet pick up is available in the days before the event and on race day at designated locations including the IDEA El Paso Regional Office and Ascarate Park. Proceeds support programming for scholars at IDEA El Paso schools. The race is held rain or shine and refunds are not allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
