Events
The event offers several race categories:
- 5K El Paso Community with a registration fee of $20.
- 1 Mile Fun Run El Paso Community with a registration fee of $20.
- 5K IDEA Team & Family with a registration fee of $15.
- 1 Mile Fun Run IDEA Team & Family with a registration fee of $15.
- 5K Run/Walk IDEA Students with no registration fee.
- 1 Mile Fun Run IDEA Students with no registration fee.
All events are scheduled for March 7, 2026. Registration ends on the morning of the race day.
Location and Logistics
The event takes place at Ascarate Park in El Paso, Texas. On-site parking is free. The event is held rain or shine, and refunds are not allowed.
Packet pick-up is available at the IDEA El Paso Regional Office on March 5 and 6, and at Ascarate Park on the morning of March 7. The packet includes a bib for all runners, and a shirt for participants who paid a registration fee.
Awards and Features
Every registered participant in the 1 Mile and 5K events receives a finisher medal. Additional trophies are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the 5K, for both males and females across four age categories. An additional traveling trophy is awarded to the IDEA school campus with the most participants.
The event includes a Healthy Living Expo and is presented as part of IDEA Public Schools' Healthy Kids Here program. Proceeds from the 5K support programming for scholars at IDEA El Paso schools. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
