Idaho Running Day
Idaho Running Day on October 17, 2026 presents multiple road race distances on the Boise Greenbelt, following the Boise River from Lucky Peak Reservoir to Southeast Boise. The event’s start and finish area is at Sandy Point Park in Boise.
Distances offered:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
The event includes team scoring with cash prizes and additional club awards based on registration numbers. All participants receive locally designed medals, high-quality athletic shirts, and real-time chip timing. A post-race festival is held near the finish with food trucks and event partners.
Logistics provided by the organizers include pre-event packet pickup at local Fleet Feet locations, limited race day packet pickup at the start/finish area, and a race day shuttle option with a registration deadline. Parking is available at Sandy Point Beach with a vehicle fee and at Lucky Peak State Discovery Unit about a 10–15 minute walk from the start. Gear drop will be located in a marked tent near the start/finish; bags must be labeled with bib numbers and picked up after the race.
On-course support for the 10K, half, and full distances includes aid stations every 2–3 miles stocked with Gu chews, gels, waffles, and Tailwind hydration. Portable restrooms are available at the start/finish and at each aid station. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
