Event Details
Idaho Running Day takes place on October 17, 2026, along the Boise Greenbelt. The race courses run from Lucky Peak Reservoir to Southeast Boise, with views of the Boise River. The start and finish area is at Sandy Point Park in Boise.
Distances
The event offers four race distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
All events have a final cutoff time of 3:00 PM.
Participant Information
All participants receive a locally designed medal, a high-quality athletic shirt, and access to a post-race party. Real-time chip timing is provided. A free shuttle service is available from a designated location, which is a 10-15 minute walk from the start/finish area. Gear drop is available near the start/finish line.
Course Support
Aid stations are located every 2-3 miles on the 10K, Half Marathon, and Marathon courses. These stations provide Gu chews, gels, waffles, and Tailwind hydration. Portable restrooms will be available at each aid station and near the start/finish area.
Logistics
Packet pickup is available on Wednesday and Thursday before the race at Fleet Feet stores in Nampa and Meridian. Limited race-day packet pickup is available at the start/finish line. Parking is available at Sandy Point Beach for a $7 fee or with a valid Idaho Parks Passport, and at Lucky Peak State Discovery Unit. Food trucks will be at the start/finish area.
Additional Features
The event includes team scoring and cash prizes for running clubs. A group shakeout run is hosted at Fleet Feet Meridian on the Thursday before the race. Race distance or bib transfers are possible until a specified deadline. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
