2026 Islendingadagurinn Icelandic Festival of Manitoba Running Races
The 2026 running events in Gimli, Manitoba, take place on Sunday, August 2, 2026 and include three races:
- 10 Mile
- 5 Kilometer
- 1 Mile
The 10 Mile is the 58th edition and follows a route from Winnipeg Beach to Gimli along Highway 9. It is accredited by the Manitoba Runners Association and awards top male and female finishers in age groups: 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 plus.
The 5 Kilometer is the 8th annual race, held at Gimli Pavilion Park east side at the corner of Amisk and Fifth Avenue. Prizes are awarded to the first male and female finishers. The in-person 5K is part of the Interlake Run Series.
The 1 Mile is the 35th Jan's Memorial Fun Run at Gimli Pavilion Park and allows race day registration. Virtual participation is offered for the 5K and the 10 Mile with time submission windows in late July and early August 2026. Registration fees vary by event and by registration period.
