Icebox 480/240
Icebox is a timed trail challenge held at Whitetail Ridge in River Falls, WI on Saturday, November 7, 2026. Participants run repeated laps on a roughly 5 mile single-track loop and aim to cover as much distance as they can within their chosen time limit.
Participants choose between these options:
- 4 hour (240 minutes) challenge
- 8 hour (480 minutes) challenge
A 1 mile bonus loop opens in the final hour for runners who want an extra lap. Runners record their start and finish times on a large display board and are responsible for tracking their own times. Drop bags may be kept at the start area.
The event is cupless; runners should bring their own water container to refill at aid stations. A staffed aid station provides snacks and, later in the day, more substantial items such as chicken noodle soup, quesadillas, and mashed potatoes. Portable toilets are available at the start point.
Pacers are not allowed. Crews may assist only at aid stations or the drop bag area. Parking is allowed on nearby streets only; parking in business lots is prohibited and may result in ticketing or towing. There is no immediate camping at the event site; Willow River State Park is listed 14 miles away for camping options and several hotels are available in nearby towns.
The organizer states an intent to maintain an inclusive environment and reserves the right to delay, suspend, or cancel the event for safety reasons. No refunds or transfers are allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
