I Like Pie Thanksgiving Fun Run
I Like Pie is a community event held on Thanksgiving Day in Bend, Oregon. This untimed event serves as a fundraiser, with all proceeds benefiting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bend. Participants can choose to walk or run through one of three available course loops starting and finishing at Riverbend Park.
The event features a rolling start window, allowing participants to begin their chosen route at any time during a two-hour period. Those seeking a more competitive atmosphere can line up at the beginning of the window, though no official timing services are provided. The celebration at the finish line includes music, photo opportunities, and pie for participants, including gluten-free options.
The following distance options are available:
- 1.3 miles (Little Slice of Pi(e))
- 3.14 miles (Perfect Slice of Pi(e))
- 5.3 miles (Whole Pi(e))
Registration includes a custom race bib and access to the festivities. The first 5,000 registered participants also receive a commemorative "I Like Pie" beanie. The event is dog-friendly, provided pets are kept on a leash and are comfortable around children. Children in strollers may participate at no additional cost. Packet pickup is held on the Tuesday and Wednesday before the event at a local running store, as well as on Thanksgiving morning at the park.
Parking is available in surrounding areas, including the Old Mill District and the Riverbend Dog Park lot, within a short walk of the start line. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
