I-35 Challenge
The I-35 Challenge is a combined-event option between the Garmin Kansas City Marathon and the IMT Des Moines Marathon. It spans two races, two cities, and two states over a single weekend. Participants complete two distance events, one in Kansas City and one in Des Moines.
The Challenge allows these distance combinations:
- Full Marathon in Kansas City and Full Marathon in Des Moines
- Full Marathon in Kansas City and Half Marathon in Des Moines
- Half Marathon in Kansas City and Full Marathon in Des Moines
- Half Marathon in Kansas City and Half Marathon in Des Moines
I-35 Challenge participants receive the standard participant items from each individual marathon. In addition, they receive a separate challenge-branded commemorative item and a distinct finisher medal for the I-35 Challenge. Registration can be completed for both events together or, if the participant already registered for both races separately, by selecting an I-35 specific registration option.
