I-35 Challenge Overview
The I-35 Challenge is a collaborative event between the Garmin Kansas City Marathon and the IMT Des Moines Marathon. This event requires participants to complete designated races in both Kansas City, Missouri, and Des Moines, Iowa, on concurrent weekends. The challenge takes place across two days in October.
Participants can choose from several event combinations to fulfill the challenge requirements. These include:
- Kansas City Marathon and Des Moines Marathon
- Kansas City Marathon and Des Moines Half Marathon
- Kansas City Half Marathon and Des Moines Marathon
- Kansas City Half Marathon and Des Moines Half Marathon
Registration options allow runners to sign up for both city races through a single integrated package or to join the challenge separately if they have already registered for the individual races in Kansas City and Des Moines. The event provides a platform for athletes to test their endurance by competing in two different cities within a short timeframe.
