I-35 Challenge
The I-35 Challenge is a joint offering from the Garmin Kansas City Marathon and the IMT Des Moines Marathon. It lets participants complete two events across two cities and two states on the same weekend.
Participants may combine the following race options:
- Full Marathon in Kansas City and Full Marathon in Des Moines
- Full Marathon in Kansas City and Half Marathon in Des Moines
- Half Marathon in Kansas City and Full Marathon in Des Moines
- Half Marathon in Kansas City and Half Marathon in Des Moines
In addition to the standard participant items provided by each individual race, I-35 Challenge participants receive an additional challenge-branded commemorative item and a separate finisher medal.
Registration can be completed for both races at once, or participants who already registered for both races separately can register under an I-35 only option. Event materials and support referenced for the challenge include course maps, frequently asked questions, packet pickup and race expos, official results, and training resources.
