I-35 Challenge
The I-35 Challenge is a paired-event offering created through a partnership between the Garmin Kansas City Marathon and the IMT Des Moines Marathon. The challenge spans two cities in two states over a single weekend and is completed by running paired races in Kansas City and Des Moines.
Participants may combine events in the following ways:
- Full Marathon in Kansas City & Full Marathon in Des Moines
- Full Marathon in Kansas City & Half Marathon in Des Moines
- Half Marathon in Kansas City & Full Marathon in Des Moines
- Half Marathon in Kansas City & Half Marathon in Des Moines
Entries include the usual participant items provided by each individual marathon. In addition, all I-35 Challenge participants receive a separate challenge-branded commemorative item and an additional finisher medal specific to the I-35 Challenge.
Registration can be completed for both events together through the joint challenge option. Those who have already registered for both races separately can select an I-35 only registration option to receive the challenge items and medal.
