Hyner View Trail Challenge
The Hyner View Trail Challenge is a trail running event in Hyner, PA, offering two distances over natural single track and mountain terrain. - 25K - about 4,000 feet of vertical, three major climbs and three major descents
- 50K - about 6,500 feet of vertical with five major climbs
The event sets entry limits and qualifying standards. The 25K is limited to the first 1,000 entrants and the 50K to the first 400 entrants. The 50K requires a qualifying performance that demonstrates the ability to complete roughly 31 miles in under 10 hours; road races are not accepted as qualifiers. The organizer enforces strict registration rules: no refunds, no deferrals, no bib transfers and no unregistered participants. There are hard cutoffs at specific course miles; runners who miss them will be pulled or may be directed to the shorter course. Race site amenities are minimal with no on site electricity or water; an ice trailer is available near the registration tent. Spectator access is limited by narrow mountain roads; designated spectator points are at Hyner View State Park and Hyner Run State Park.
