Hyner Half & 7K, Hyner Run State Park
The Hyner event offers two trail distances that take place at Hyner Run State Park in the Sproul State Forest region of the PA Wilds. The main course follows rugged single-track trails through forested terrain and includes sustained climbs and descents.
Distances:
- 14 mile trail race on single-track with varied terrain.
- 7K route that climbs Long Fork, crosses to the deer fence, and returns via Log Hollow.
The event is open only to runners and speed hikers; it is not designed for walkers. All participants must have a prior qualifying event and time listed before being considered official entrants. A strict 4.5 hour time limit applies. Aid stations are located at approximately mile 4, mile 8, and mile 11.5. Post race food and beverages are provided. The park has a public swimming pool available for runners during the day.
Entry is limited and registration opens in December; entries are capped for the field. The event policy states no refunds, no deferrals, and no unregistered participants are allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
