Hyner Half & 7k
The Hyner Half & 7k takes place in Hyner Run State Park, located in Hyner, Pennsylvania. This event features trail courses through the PA Wilds and the Sproul State Forest, utilizing a variety of single-track paths. The event is part of the Rocksylvania Trail Series and is organized by the PA Trail Dogs.
Participants can choose between two distinct distances:
- 14 miles (Hyner Half+): A rugged course with approximately 3000 feet of elevation gain.
- 7 km: A shorter distance that includes the Long Fork climb and returns via Log Hollow.
The 14-mile event has a strict 4.5-hour time limit and is restricted to runners and speed-hikers; the course is not intended for walkers. Applicants for the longer distance must provide a qualifying event and time during registration to confirm their ability to complete the course within the limit.
There are three aid stations provided for the 14-mile distance, located at mile 4, mile 8, and mile 11.5. Post-race food and beverages are provided for participants. Additionally, the venue at Hyner Run State Park includes a swimming pool available for use by the athletes. Registration is limited to 225 participants.
