Hyak Homecoming 5K Fun Run/Walk
The Annual Hyak Homecoming 5K Fun Run/Walk is a community running and walking event in Ocean Shores, Washington. The course starts on Ocean Shores Boulevard at the city’s Main Beach Entrance, follows the boulevard south to a designated halfway turnaround, and returns north to the finish at the Main Beach Entrance. The event takes place rain or shine; in cases of severe weather or unsafe conditions, organizers may delay, change, or cancel the event.
Race-day registration, participant check-in, and race-number pickup take place in the Ocean Shores Convention Center parking lot. Parking is available near the Convention Center. Participants are advised to follow event signs and volunteer directions when arriving.
The event is open to runners and walkers of all ages. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and appropriate shoes, and bring personal water, medication, or other items they may need. For safety, everyone must follow the marked course and the directions of race volunteers and traffic-control personnel; children should remain under the supervision of a parent or responsible adult. The course closes later in the morning, and participants remaining on the course after that time may be asked to move to the sidewalk and follow normal pedestrian rules.
The run is organized by the North Beach High School ASB. Proceeds benefit the NBHS ASB to support student extracurricular activities, events, and leadership opportunities. The registration fee is $25. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
