Hustle Up the Hill for the Homeless

The event is a timed run or walk held at Mt. Hoy in Blackwell Forest Preserve, Warrenville, IL, on September 26, 2026. Participants make repeated round trips up and down Mt. Hoy for a 30 minute period; each round trip is approximately 0.3 miles with a variable incline. Mt. Hoy rises 836 feet above sea level and offers panoramic views of the surrounding western suburbs and, on clear days, the Chicago skyline.

All proceeds go toward housing a homeless family for two years through the Bridge Communities program. Bridge Communities provides free transitional housing and supportive services that help families learn budgeting, increase savings, improve employment prospects, and work toward self-sufficiency over a two year period. The program supports many families annually and the event’s past proceeds have helped multiple families in their transition to stable housing.

Entry fees are stated as $30 per person or $25 per person for teams of four or more, with a race day fee of $35. Participants may enter solo or as part of a team. Event amenities mentioned include event T-shirts and gourmet coffee at the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
