Husky Pack Mutt Strut 5K Run/Walk
The Husky Pack Mutt Strut 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for November 7, 2026, at Haw Creek Elementary, 2555 Echols Road, Cumming, GA 30041. The event offers a community 5K run and walk and a Husky Mutt 5K dog division for participants who register with their dogs.
Proceeds are dedicated to creating an on campus Therapy Dog Park. The park is intended to serve as an outdoor classroom where students can engage in occupational therapy, speech therapy, gross motor activities, and functional communication. Older students may gain vocational skills by helping to manage and maintain the facility. The park is also planned to support community outreach by hosting visits from other Forsyth County schools and to serve as a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support incentive area.
Registration fees are tiered: the 5K entry is listed at $30 before a price increase and $35 after that date, with a race day fee of $40. The Husky Mutt dog division is listed at $20 before a price increase and $25 after that date, with a race day fee of $30. All registered mutts receive a bandana to hold their timing chip. Awards are presented for overall male and female finishers and age group awards three deep for the listed age brackets; the dog division also has overall male and female awards.
Early packet pickup is offered at the school on the day before the event. A course map and event details are provided by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
