Husky Hearts 5K
Husky Hearts 5K is a community running and walking event centered at Ivy Hawn Charter School in Lake Helen, Florida. The main running options include a 5K route that loops around scenic Lake Helen and a separate 1-mile Color Run on the school campus. The Color Run features color stations and live music; participants start clean and finish covered in color. A virtual race option is also offered.
The event is presented as family-friendly and open to a wide range of ages, including children, teens, and adults. All participants receive a custom race medal and a t-shirt. Proceeds support the school’s Track, Cross Country, and Volleyball teams, which have equipment needs such as javelins and high jump mats.
Packet pickup and late registration are handled at the school address, and race day packet pickup and registration take place at the middle school doors. Several designated cheer zones are placed along the course, including Lake Helen Library, Blake Park corner, Washington Avenue and High Street, and Lemon and East Michigan. Volunteers help with course support and color stations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
