Huskers 5K in East Prairie, Missouri
The Huskers 5K is a community road run held in East Prairie, Missouri, organized in conjunction with the East Prairie Main Street Party and Sweet Corn Festival. The event uses the East Prairie Chamber of Commerce / Body Fx Gym at 106 S. Washington as the start and finish area, with registration tables set up outside and free street parking nearby.
Online registration is open through June 12 at 11:59 PM CT. Pricing tiers are Early Bird through April 30 for $20, May 1 through June 12 for $25 with t-shirts not guaranteed, and onsite registration for $30 with shirts available for purchase while supplies last. Pre-registration includes an official Huskers 5K t-shirt; shirts are guaranteed for participants who register by June 12. Additional official shirts may be pre-ordered for pickup the night of the run with listed prices by size.
The course is described as a flat route along well-marked city streets, sidewalks, and rural highways. For safety on open roads, participants must obey traffic laws and pets, bicycles, and rollerblades are not permitted. Race officials will be stationed along the course and ATV support is planned. Printed course maps will be available at packet pickup. Multiple water stations and portable restrooms will be provided at the start and finish area.
Awards will be presented for top overall male and female and for age groups including 10 and under, 11 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over.
