Hurtwood 50k Trail Ultramarathon
The event is a 50 km trail ultramarathon that starts in the town of Dorking and follows the Greensand Way into the forested Surrey Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The route is a lollipop out-and-back with a roughly 5 mile loop on the western end before returning along the Greensand Way.
The course runs through woodlands, ridgelines and valleys and crosses Leith Hill, Holmbury Hill and Pitch Hill. The route is fully signed and supported, with aid stations located at approximately 7, 13, 18 and 24 miles. Electronic timing is provided with live leaderboards. Event medics and a sweeper runner are on the course. A finisher medal is awarded.
Mandatory kit is required for participation. A nominal extra charge is available to purchase a commemorative T shirt at entry. Participants may opt to plant a tree via the Trees not Tees scheme. The race qualifies towards the runner performance index for UTMB.
Entries are online only and subject to capacity. Entry closes 1pm on Friday 4 December or earlier if capacity is reached. Deferral requests must be made by midday on 22 November. Minimum age is 18 years. Dogs are not permitted on the course.
Participants should note the off road terrain can be rough, rocky or muddy and that it is their responsibility to ensure they are fit and prepared for the event conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
