Huntington Lake Triathlon, 5k & 10k
The event takes place at Huntington Lake in Lakeshore, CA near China Peak Resort. It features a lake swim, a road bike course, and a high altitude run that is partly on trail and partly on paved surfaces. Multiple race formats are offered, including triathlon distances, duathlon, aquabike, aquathlon, 5k and 10k runs, relay options, and virtual race choices.
Each registered athlete receives a custom event t-shirt, an athlete goody bag, a swim cap, a post-race meal, and is eligible for raffle prizes and race awards paid three deep in each division. Additional event items listed by the organizer include a finisher's medal, a pancake breakfast, Rosa Brother's chocolate milk, prizes and giveaways, and complimentary race photos.
A USAT membership is required for triathlon entries but is not required for the 5k and 10k runs; athletes may purchase a membership during registration. There is a vehicle entrance fee for parking of ten dollars; car pooling is recommended when possible. Volunteer participants are offered a future discounted multisport or a free run entry that is transferable and does not expire. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
