Event Overview
The 48th Annual Human Race 5K takes place on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Oconee Veterans Park in Watkinsville, Georgia. The event includes a 5K Run/Walk and a 5K Phantom Participant option. Proceeds from the race benefit the Catholic Student Association Ministries and Activities.
Course and Location
The 5K course follows the paved trail around the perimeter of Oconee Veterans Park. The start and finish are located on the Soccer Field side of the park. A course map is available via a provided link.
Registration and Schedule
Registration is available in several tiers:
- Pre-registration, which closes on January 26, 2026, includes a t-shirt for $20 for individuals or $80 for teams/families of up to 5.
- Late registration from January 27 to February 11 (online) and on race day costs $25 for individuals or $100 for teams/families. T-shirt availability is not guaranteed for late or race-day registration.
Packet pickup is available on Friday, February 13, from noon to 5:00 PM at the Catholic Center on 1344 South Lumpkin Street. Race day packet pickup and registration begins at 8:00 AM.
Post-Race and Awards
Following the race, a light breakfast and awards ceremony are held. Awards are unique pottery pieces from Blue Bell Pottery. They are given to the overall male and female winners, masters male and female winners, and to 1st and 2nd place finishers in standard 5-year age groups, from 10 and under to 80 and over.
Additional Information
The event is part of the Black Bag Race Series. Finish line management and results are handled by Classic Race Services, with results posted online within 24 hours of the event. The race proceeds as scheduled in the rain but may be postponed in 30-minute increments in the event of thunder or lightning. No refunds are issued due to weather.
