Hughenden Valley Half Marathon

The Hughenden Valley Half Marathon is a trail race based at Hughenden Manor in Buckinghamshire, on National Trust grounds. The course covers 21.1 km with about 450 m of ascent and follows a mix of woodland and rural trails through parts of Naphill, Bradenham and Hughenden.

Most of the route runs on forest paths with noticeable undulation and a few short climbs; the organisers rate it as easier than the Chiltern Ridge and Dunstable routes. The ground is often rough and uneven, so trail running shoes are recommended. Navigation is provided with orange arrow markers and ribbons, and marshals help on course.

Three aid stations are provided at mid-race points offering water, cola, Precision Fuel & Hydration PF30 gels and jelly babies. The event base at Hughenden Manor includes car parking, toilets and a cafe, and the start/finish area is on the park grounds near the church. A GPX file and a downloadable runner's guide are available for the route.

Entries are priced at £32 (£30 for UKA affiliated runners). Minimum age is 17 and dogs are not permitted. The race holds a TRA licence (No. 7445) and is run under UKA rules. Race services include chip timing with live results, medical support, bag drop and a finishers souvenir. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
