Hub Run 5k/2k
The Hub Run is a running event in Crown Point, Indiana, offering two distances: a 5k run and a 2k run.
The event takes place at Bulldog Park, located at 183 S. West St. Packet pickup is available on Friday before the event from 2 PM to 6 PM at the Dean & Barbara White Southlake YMCA. On race day, registration and packet pickup are at Bulldog Park from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM. All roads along the course are closed from 8:45 AM until the race is over.
A race shirt is included with registration. To guarantee a shirt, participants must register by March 22.
An award ceremony is held immediately after the race. For the 5k, awards are presented to the top overall female and male finishers, top male and female masters (40 years and older), and the first, second, and third place finishers in each age division. Special awards are also given for the top Athena (female 170 lbs+) and top Clydesdale (male 210 lbs+) categories. An award is also given to the elementary school with the most participants. Awards not collected on race day can be picked up at the YMCA starting the Monday after the race.
The event is part of a "YMCA Triple Crown Challenge," which includes entry to the Hub Run, the Brickyard Run in June, and the Run for the Hills in October. Proceeds from the race support the YMCA's Income-Based Scholarship program. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
