About the race
Hub City Races offers three chip timed distances in Crown Point, Indiana, with start and finish at the Lake County Fairgrounds. Distances include:
- Half marathon (USATF certified, chip timed)
- 10K (chip timed)
- 5K (chip timed)
The course is a flat out and back route that begins and ends in a wooded fairgrounds area and runs along the streets of historic Crown Point. Timing uses start and finish mats; only the half marathon is USATF certified.
Aid and facilities are provided along the course. There are four water stops that participants pass a total of eight times on the out and back route; each stop offers water, Gatorade and gels. Three restroom or port-a-potty locations are placed along the route and are passed six times total. Music is provided at the start and along the course.
Finisher medals use different colors for each distance and medals are reserved for the first 400 registrants. A medal is available for participants completing their first race at each distance. Race awards are presented for top overall, top master (40+), and top three in each age group; additional Clydesdale and Athena divisions apply for certain races.
Other event notes: a 3.5 hour time limit applies to the half marathon (16:00 minute per mile pace), entry fees vary by distance, shirts are available for an extra fee, there are early packet pickup opportunities, and no refunds or late transfers are permitted after the stated deadline.
