Hub City Races: Half, 10K & 5K
The Hub City Races is a chip timed road event in Crown Point, Indiana that offers three race distances. All courses are out and back and start and finish at the Lake County Fairgrounds, running along the streets of historic Crown Point.
- Half marathon
- 10K
- 5K
The half marathon is USATF certified; the 10K and 5K are not. The course is described as flat and fast. Aid is provided by four water stations that participants pass eight times on the out and back layout; stations supply water, Gatorade and gels. There are three restroom facilities placed along the course and each will be passed twice in each direction. The half marathon has a 3.5 hour time limit, after which the timing system is removed and no time will be recorded.
Event features include chip timing, finisher medals for the first 400 registered participants, and awards for overall, masters and age group placings. Award divisions also include Clydesdale and Athena categories for the half and 5K, with 19 standard age divisions listed. Entry fees are published by distance and shirts are available for an additional fee until late August. Two early packet pickup opportunities are offered at local locations in September.
