Hub City Races: Half, 10K and 5K
The event stages three chip timed road races that start and finish at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Crown Point, Indiana. The course is described as flat and follows an out and back route through a scenic, wooded park and along the streets of historic Crown Point. The half marathon course is USATF certified; the 10K and 5K are not certified.
Race services and logistics include:
- Half marathon
- 10K
- 5K
Timing uses mats at the start and finish. There are four water stations placed along the course; participants pass those stations multiple times on the out and back route. Stations provide water, Gatorade and gels. Three restroom or port a potty locations are available along the route and are passed more than once.
Awards are offered for the half marathon, 10K and 5K with categories such as Top Overall, Top Master (40 plus) and top three in each age group. The half and 5K include additional divisions named Clydesdale and Athena. The half marathon has a 3.5 hour time limit; participants finishing after that time will not receive an official time.
Entry fees listed by the organizer are: Half marathon $50, 10K $35, 5K $30, ages 3 to 12 $20 and under 3 free. Early packet pickup dates and optional race shirts are noted by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
