Event overview
The Howletts 5k is a 5k run held at Howletts Wild Animal Park in Bekesbourne, Canterbury (CT4 5EL). The event is organised by The Aspinall Foundation and takes place on multi-terrain, undulating paths that run through about 90 acres of parkland. The route passes enclosures with more than 45 species, including giant anteaters, gorillas, tigers and lions.
The race supports The Aspinall Foundation's conservation and rhino rewilding work. The foundation has rewilded black rhinos at its Port Lympne site and reports subsequent births and wild descendants; the event edition referenced supports the rewilding of three further black rhinos in Tanzania.
