Howl-O-Ween Dash - Florence
Howl-O-Ween Dash is a family-friendly running event at McFarland Park in Florence, Alabama on October 31, 2026. The event benefits the Florence-Lauderdale and Colbert County Animal Shelters.

The courses run along the riverbank and are mostly flat, with grades under 5 percent. The 5K is measured but not certified. Timing is provided with professional RFID chip timing by Race Ready Events.
Event features and services include awards for top overall Male and Female, combined gender age-group awards, a combined pet and owner award, a pet costume contest with 1st through 3rd place prizes, kids pumpkin painting, on-site coffee from Wander Coffee, and an on-site recovery station staffed by Embodied Physical Therapy offering dry needling, cupping, and manual stretching. There are two aid stations on course; the start/finish area offers hydration, snacks, electrolytes, and first aid.
Logistics noted in the event materials include early packet pick-up at Keene & Scott, race day packet pick-up at McFarland Park, and free on-site parking. Well-socialized restrained pets are allowed to run; strollers are permitted at the back of the pack. Some wheeled devices and unrestrained items are not allowed on course.
