Event overview
HOURGLASS is a last-person-standing running event on 27 June 2026 at the Royal Cornwall Events Centre. The event is organised as successive timed laps; the last remaining runners are the final placings. Prizes are awarded to the last remaining male and female runners and to second and third place. All finishers receive a bespoke medal. Event T-shirts and hoodies are available to pre-order, with a small number for sale on the day.
Format and route
Competitors run repeated 2-mile laps on a flat-ish course around the event centre. The first lap must be completed within 30 minutes, and each subsequent lap reduces the time allowed by one minute (29 minutes, 28 minutes, and so on). Runners who do not complete a lap within the allocated time are eliminated. Reaching an 18-minute lap equals 13 laps, which the organiser notes corresponds to a marathon distance; additional laps extend into ultra distances. The route mixes tarmac and grass and includes twists and turns.
On-site facilities
Food and beverage outlets will be available. Participants and supporters will have access to an onsite hall with toilets and showers. Massage services are offered before, during, or after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
