Appleton Houdini 10K
The event is a 10 km road race in Appleton, Wisconsin that follows a scenic course including the Newberry Trail and the Appleton Locks. Runners start at Houdini Plaza and finish in Jones Park. Post race food and beverage are available at the finish area, including Copper State Brewing Co. beer for those 21 and older.
Race services include chip timing, a participant shirt, and a finisher medal. Water is available at two aid stations located at about 2.25 miles and 4.25 miles. Toilets are provided at the start area, at each water stop, and at the finish area. Strollers and walkers are permitted and the course closes mid morning.
The event offers both an in person option and a virtual Houdini 10K. Virtual participants receive the commemorative finisher medal and participant shirt and may pick up their packet in person or have materials shipped. The virtual event is not scored and virtual participants are not required to report finishing times.
Packet pick up is handled at Jones Park shelter on the Friday and Saturday before the race. Shirt exchanges are available at the Race Hub after packet pick up and again after the race, with extra shirts taken to the local store for later exchange when available.
Awards are given to overall male and female winners and to the top three finishers in each listed age group. Free beginner and intermediate training plans are provided by the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
