Event Details
The Hotter Than Hell Marathon for RaceMD is an overnight marathon event taking place on a Sunday in July. The main event is a 26.2-mile run consisting of 13 two-mile loops. The event is self-timed.
Participants have options beyond the full marathon run. They can cover the marathon distance using other methods like cycling or skating. They can also complete the distance as part of a relay team. Shorter distances are available, including a half marathon, a 10k, and a 5k.
The event raises funds for RaceMD, a non-profit organization supporting Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). All donations and proceeds from shirt sales go directly to the organization.
Location and History
The event will be held at Lafreniere Park in Metairie, Louisiana. For its first 18 years, the event was held at Audubon Park in New Orleans. It was held virtually from 2020 to 2022. The 2026 edition will be its 24th running.
Virtual Option
A virtual race option is also available. Participants can complete their chosen distance between a specified period around the event date.
Packet Pickup
Packet pickup is available on the day before the event at Lafreniere Park. An early packet pickup is also scheduled for a Tuesday earlier in the same week at Louisiana Pizza Kitchen in New Orleans. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
