Event Details

The Hotter Than Hell Marathon for RaceMD takes place on July 5, 2026. It is a self-timed, overnight event. The main event covers the full marathon distance of 26.2 miles, run as 13 two-mile loops.

Location and History

The 2026 edition, which will be the 24th iteration of the event, will be held at Lafreniere Park in Metairie, Louisiana. For its first 18 years, the event was held at Audubon Park in New Orleans. It was held virtually from 2020 to 2022.

Participation Options

The event offers flexibility in participation. While the main focus is a marathon, participants have options:

  • Run the 26.2 miles.
  • Complete the distance by other methods, such as biking or skating.
  • Form a relay team.
  • Choose a shorter distance: a half marathon, 10k, or 5k.

A virtual race option is also available. Participants can complete their chosen mileage between June 28 and July 5, 2026.

Charitable Cause

This is a donation-based event benefiting RaceMD, a non-profit organization dedicated to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). All donations and proceeds from shirt sales go directly to RaceMD and are tax-deductible. The funds are used to provide stem cell therapy for boys with DMD.
