Event Overview
The SKECHERS Hot Chocolate Run Minneapolis is scheduled for November 7, 2026. The event takes place at Boom Island Park and offers three race distances: a 5K, a 10K, and a 15K. Participants receive an exclusive full-zip Skechers Hot Chocolate Run jacket and a commemorative finisher's medal.
Race Experience
At the finish line, runners receive a finisher's mug filled with chocolate fondue, dippable treats, and hot chocolate. The post-race party at Boom Island Park features music and vendors. Participants also receive a commemorative race bib and access to free race photos. The courses are professionally managed and timed.
An optional VIP experience, the Ghirardelli Cocoa Club, provides an upgraded package. Perks include a special shopping bag with Ghirardelli cocoa, a $35 store credit, VIP corral placement, access to a private area before and after the event, a hot breakfast item, and dedicated restrooms.
Course & Logistics
The course starts at Boom Island Park and runs alongside the Mississippi River, offering views of downtown and uptown Minneapolis. Points of interest include the Stone Arch Bridge, Merriam Street Bridge, and Saint Anthony Falls.
Packet pickup occurs at the free public expo on November 6, 2026, at Royalston Square. Alternatively, participants can pay for packet mailing by October 18, 2026. There is no race day packet pickup.
Awards
Overall awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance (5K, 10K, 15K), with cash prizes and free registration for the following year. Age group awards are also presented for various categories, with prizes including discounted or free registration for the next event.
Parking is not available at Boom Island Park on race day, but public transportation, ride-sharing, and nearby parking garages are options. Free parking is available at the expo location, Royalston Square. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
