Horton Bull Run
The Horton Bull Run is an annual country lane race held in the village of Horton in South Gloucestershire, set within the Cotswolds and close to Bristol and Bath. The event takes place on lanes and country paths around the village and surrounding countryside.
For 2026 the route has changed because of potholes on the usual course. The start has moved from Horton School to Bennett Engineering, located just down the hill from the Village Hall, and the finish remains at the Village Hall. The course length is 6.8 km (4.2 miles), which is almost the same as the previous course. The route is now described as a "hybrid" course rather than a road course because it includes a short section along a bridleway/farm track at the edge of Lower Woods.
The event is supported by local sponsors and local manpower. Revenue from the runs is donated to the Horton and Little Sodbury Village Hall Charity and used to support the local community. Entry forms and contact details are available for the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
