Horsetooth Half Marathon
The Horsetooth Half Marathon is a historic running event in Fort Collins, Colorado. Established as the oldest half marathon in the state, the race celebrates its 53rd edition in 2026. The event is owned by the Fort Collins Running Club and managed by Gnar Runners.
The course follows a point-to-point route that starts at the Holiday Twin Drive-In, located near the former site of Hughes Stadium. Participants run along Centennial Drive, following the shorelines of the Horsetooth Reservoir. The route then leads toward the Poudre River recreation trail. The course features a net loss in elevation, resulting in a net downhill profile.
Available distances:
- 21.1 km (Half Marathon)
The event concludes with an after party hosted at New Belgium Brewing. The race provides a prize purse totaling $12,000 and includes specific fields for elite runners. Participants have access to training resources and various pacer groups to assist them during the run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
